Yay for Caroline!

Caroline went and tried on some of the dresses today and ordered one. Hers is in the platinum color so she didn't have to order them with the other ones, which made it a lot easier, since she is in Long Island. It's this dress below, in platinum! So pretty! I bet it looks amazing on her!Isobel picked out the dress she wants, she has the celadon color, it is this dress below. So pretty! Yay for picking out dresses.
8 more to go! Actually I know what dress Cassie wants, I just don't know the size, so 7.5 to go!

Lucky for me.

I now have the help of a wedding planner! YAY! She is great! and she is my age so she wont be suggesting I put doilies on the tables! YAY! The optimist was going to call our house to let us know if they could do it. Unfortunately we are not on the cape so maybe I should call them. If they can't do it we are back to square one! eek! I did get a call from a woman at Cape Cod Cakes that said she would make some cupcakes, I haven't told her that they will be egg/milk free yet. Jennifer (wedding planner/lifesaver) knows someone too, so if this lady doesn't work, there is another option possibly (if the other woman wants to do vegan cupcakes) (and Kristy is going to make some too I think so that will be awesome, since she is the best cupcake maker in the entire world) That's all we really care about as far as food type thing, being vegan.... Is getting married supposed to be stressful? I am happy to be here in WNC! It is so nice here and our house here is new and clean and nice. It is a change from the Cape house. Although I love that house, sometimes dealing with an old house can be a real challenge... Why are we not getting married here?

and growing....

Our numbers are growin...uh-oh. Maybe we should get our invites out sooner then later so we can see who actually can make it and who can't. Anyway there is a change in plans, we are now thinking 28 Strawberry? It is so pretty there and it would be different, not to mention that is where Lawrence and I first lived together, awwwwwww... :-) So it would be nice. Like Lawrence said, so many people have been married at 17 that it will just be "another wedding at 17" Time to mix it up a little!!! Now we just have to figure out what part of that yard is flat enough, sigh, so only a few hundred more things to figure out. Oh and we asked the Optimist Cafe to cater the wedding, they haven't called us back yet but we have our fingers crossed!! Why wouldn't they? It's like town advertising and we are paying for it!! Ok now back to my paper on perception......

Why do we have to serve Alcohol?

It's nice to have booze at social occasions(so they say), but it's really not necessary. I do believe that if a person can't go to a social event, talk to people, dance and enjoy thoroughly themselves without any alcohol being present, then that person has a drinking problem..... But maybe I just see that way because I don't drink :) I guess I don't mind having wine and beer for a short time but would anyone be offended if it was only served for a few hours?

ALAS!

We have a date! September 15, 2007. The Farmers Almanac says it will rain that day and be cold, so bring an unbrella and dress warm :-) We are in the process of securing a tent for 17 Strawberry. Tomorrow we are going to call The Casual Gormet and see if they can come up with any yummy L type food. So what's the next step? Finding a time (that seems easy enough), finding brides maid dresses and honorary bridesmaid dresses. My Maid of Honor is going to be Cassie, it makes sense and she is like my real sister, so I think it will be good, plus I trust her with anything... I have no clue who Larry Lawrence wants for a best man/ Usher, but I hope he comes up with someone soon! I will update more later... Byebye

rough numbers
We have come up with a mock list for the wedding, and so far I have 45 and LP has 39. it looks like we are on the right track with keeping the numbers low, but I still think LP needs to expand on the family list. I hope we can keep this close to our targeted number of 100!! That would be awesome!

28 and counting...
Weddings breed a certain type of insanity all their own. Sometimes it's family. Sometimes it's money. Sometimes it's religion. And sometimes, it's the clothes. Hands down, there is no experience in the world quite like shopping for, paying for, and getting fitted for The Dress. "It's up there with the exquisite pain of root canal, and the agony of Thanksgiving at your long lost Aunt's house. Horrors one must endure, but which are hopefully forgotten, after they're over."The last thing I wanted to do was go to a big poofy bridal shop with Big Poofy Dresses and Big Poofy People. Picture the scene: You enter a locker-room sized space, whose walls are lined with individually wrapped, white, glowing creatures, hanging gently in the undulating breeze of the heater fan. Like Odysseus, the Sirens call to you. They mesmerize you. They enrapture you. And they all look the same. Oh God. I'll never make it out of here alive. You look around for someplace to hide, something to shelter you from the onslaught, but there is nothing but White. Panic sets in, and the sounds of the foreign creatures gets louder and louder, ringing in your ears until a mirage of soft silk and delicate satin begins to swim before your eyes. Next thing you know you picked dresses and your in a small fitting room, and you turn around to find ... five wedding dresses hanging on the hook. Carefully, you approach, touching only the slips of paper on the sleeves that read "$800, $699, etc." and that's cheap? (so they say)before you know it, you're outside of your Satin Cell, standing on a dais in front of the biggest, most flaw enhancing 12 way mirror you've ever seen, brides, zipped up snugly in perfect dresses glide by.... am I awake?
